“When I was asked to write a piece in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Recital Music, almost immediately came to me an idea to write something inspired by a great Hungarian composer Ferenc Farkas, more precisely, by his famous “Quattro Pezzi” for double bass and piano.
The present double bass trio could be understood as my homage to Quattro Pezzi, sort of a vision for double bass trio through the virtuosic and humorous spirit of that remarkable composer. All this as a gift to Recital Music and its alma mater David Heyes, celebrating the anniversary and the incredible contribution to printed music for double bass of the highest quality.” [Frano Kakarigi, May 2025]
